Gretchen

Hi! I’m Gretchen.

I think I fell in love with photography in an nontraditional way. I grew up on a hobby farm in a small town. My days were spent riding my horses through the fields and woods around my house exploring. I found myself in love with the world around me and all the small overlooked details it created. I longed to capture those moments and bring them back home with me. Photography became my method to do just that. I was taking pictures all the time, but not of the things everyone else was. I was capturing amazing artwork created by nature. The details created in cracks, tree bark, rocks, plants, water and other natural textures. This was my humble start to photography.

I started shooting weddings in 2010 and since then have discovered that weddings, much like nature,  are unique and beautiful things full of emotion and detail. I love capturing the day organically as its happens and I especially enjoy the details of the day. Rings, shoes, dresses, flowers, special tokens, food, you name it! Each couple brings their own unique mix of these things and more, and I am thrilled that I get to capture those moments. There is nothing better then knowing you have helped preserve those memories for people.

My goal as a photographer is to honor the day for what it’s about – LOVE. #loveislove
